Jeffrey C. King is a professor of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. He brings a strong background in nuclear engineering, with both master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of New Mexico and a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. His work focuses on nuclear reactor design and physics, including small- and medium-scale systems, as well as nuclear materials and computational approaches. King is also engaged in public policy and outreach efforts. Outside the lab and classroom, he enjoys a wide range of activities, including scuba diving, hiking and camping, photography, motorcycling and participating in historical reenactment, along with interests in gaming and homebrewing.
