Biography
My research interests lie in the area of extractive metallurgy, carbon sequestration, and waste management. My research group focuses on developing novel, robust, and efficient technologies that tackle the sustainability challenges associated with the supply of critical metals and anthropogenic CO2 emissions. The research program covers three main themes:
1. Hydrometallurgical processing of secondary resources with a focus on critical metals including rare earth elements, platinum group metals, and battery metals
2. Mineral carbonation of industrial wastes for carbon dioxide sequestration and production of advanced construction materials
3. Chemical and process modeling of aqueous electrolyte systems for sustainable metallurgy
