Biography

I joined the Colorado School of Mines as an assistant professor in 1999 and have been active in applied nuclear physics research in collaboration with several national laboratories.

The research field I work in can be loosely described as applied nuclear physics.

My current projects are:
  • Nuclear astrophysics with radioactive and stable ion beams
  • Radiation detector development for neutron induced fission measurements
  • Organic scintillator development

Most of the experiments are carried out at national and international laboratories (LANL, LLNL, NSCL/FRIB and TRIUMF).

Education

  • Dr. rer. nat., Ruhr – Universitat Bochum, Germany
  • Diplom-Physiker, Westfaelische Wilhelms – Universitaet Muenster, Germany

Research

  • Experimental nuclear astrophysics
  • Applied nuclear physics
  • Radiation detector development
