Program Overview

At the intersection of computer science and statistics, data science focuses on extraction of knowledge and data. This minor introduces you to necessary skills in data analysis, manipulation and storage. You’ll learn how to work with data from start to finish by gaining skills in foundational programming, data structures and algorithms and probability for engineers.

Because Mines is an applied science and engineering university, coursework emphasizes problem solving.
