Mines in Top 10 for Geophysics, Geology, Petroleum Engineering grad programs: U.S. News & World Report

Colorado School of Mines is a top spot for graduate education in earth sciences and engineering, according to the latest rankings from U.S. News and World Report.

In the 2023-24 Best Graduate Schools rankings, released late last month, three Mines graduate programs ranked in the Top 10 nationwide: 

  • No. 3: Petroleum Engineering
  • No. 5: Geophysics 
  • No. 8: Geology

Mines also ranked highly in Geochemistry (No. 13), Nuclear Engineering (No. 18) and overall Earth Sciences programs (No. 24). Other Mines graduate programs that landed in the Top 25 include Material Engineering (No. 24) and Environmental Engineering (No. 25).
