  • Examples include geologic mapping in the Front Range, civil infrastructure surveying, environmental sampling campaigns and underground operations at the Edgar Experimental Mine.
  • Supported by industry partners such as Freeport-McMoRan, Wood PLC and state/federal agencies.
  • Students gain firsthand exposure to professional tools, safety practices and field-based decision-making.

  • Mines Capstone teams frequently place among the top performers in national competitions such as SME, SAE, AIAA and the Environmental Protection Agency People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) student design challenge.
