Many courses include fieldwork, lab analysis and case studies that help you translate classroom concepts into practical understanding. You’ll gain experience observing geologic features, collecting data and interpreting conditions that influence engineering outcomes.

You may also participate in undergraduate research with faculty in the Geology and Geological Engineering department, working on projects related to subsurface characterization, slope stability or applied geologic analysis.
